Two Year Schools in California
The public colleges in California are pretty great. There are a lot of them and their quality is very high. But not every student wants to attend a four-year university. Some want to enroll at a two-year college in order to take classes in just one specific area and not have to take many general education courses. Others want to attend a community college for one or two years before transferring to one of the four-year schools. Here is just a few samples of these two-year colleges:
Bakersfield College is a big two-year school in Bakersfield.
Berkeley City College is a mid-sized community college in Berkeley.
Coastline Community College is mid to big-sized school in Fountain Valley, CA.
Many students attend one of these two-year schools before transferring to another college. While the vast majority of students transfer to another California school, some do transfer to colleges in other places.
One of the popular transfer designations is Colorado. Some students really appreciate the outdoor recreation opportunities that Colorado has to offer, and some students try to really enjoy any free time they have. Colorado is a also a popular draw for incoming freshmen.
The Big Ten colleges are also somewhat popular. You could attend one of the Big Ten Colleges like Michigan, Wisconsin or Minnesota.
Some students prefer to stay in the south, enrolling at a Texas college or perhaps one of the Southeastern Conference schools in states such as Florida or South Carolina. Some students just get tired of the winters of the northern states.
